Flowers and foliage are bursting open, the sun is hot and the soil is starting to dry out. Biennials such as foxgloves and sweet william are being sown for next year. Perennials planted as seeds are thriving and annuals are budding too. Such a wonderful time, the nettle tea and comfrey tea are being made to feed the plants. The sweet peas are climbing high, all side shoots and tendrils removed ready to be laid down to get those longer stems. Ornamental grasses and dahlias are shooting up in the polytunnel and for the first time I am growing stocks, the smell is heavenly, but they are a little small at the moment!
